Experience
I have been an educator, a designer and a businessperson.  I have an extensive knowledge of craft and the arts. 
Worked in management positions being responsible for all aspects of small business from bookkeeping to public lectures.
Worked in larger organisations and have good inter-personal skills.
Been involved with design and production of marketing information and publicity 
Designed business systems, for example exhibition displays, presentation systems and publicity material.  Have co-ordinated exhibitions and publicity surrounding them.
Worked with the media to co-ordinate interviews and product placement on television and magazines.- Involved with employing and rostering staff.

Business
Self employed businessperson, in charge of all aspects of business, from spreadsheet design and sales, through to marketing to website design. Very skilled with use of social media.
Management skills. Art and craft retail - All aspects of retail shop management

A very good understanding of new media and social networking systems.
Ability to design and maintain effective websites.

Accomplished with Windows & Mac operating systems, Adobe Photoshop (image manipulation), Quark Xpress (desktop publishing), Word Processing, Spread sheet design software and a range of other software packages. I am very skilled with computer and learn programs quickly.

1999 - Shop manager, Sophora, Lopdell House Gallery Shop.
1995 - Set up a retail, gallery and workshop space, Out of the Blue Workshops, in Kingsland, Auckland.
1992 / 1994 - Produced ceramic work, in co-ordination with a Stoke-on-Trent company, which was sold in London, through my retail outlet at Camden market.
1991 - Become a .5 grade 6 ceramic technician at Camberwell College for Art,London. 
1990 / 1991 – Part time worked for an Art storage, moving, installing company, Tranz Art, London.
1990 - Shop manager in a graphic and fine art supply shop, in London. 
1987 - Formed “Bash Design Studio”.  A ceramic workshop in Titirangi, producing and designing ceramic production ware and marketing it around New Zealand. Exhibited in all major New Zealand group shows. See www.brucehaliday.com
1986 - Started working in design, with clay.

Awards
1989 - Award received from the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council, now Creative New Zealand (a major arts grant) to work and study in the USA and United Kingdom.
1995 - Award received from the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council, now Creative New Zealand (a major arts grant) for workshop development and the development of new work. 

Education
1994 – Short course in desktop publishing. From Camberwell College  of Art, Computer Department, London.  Formally qualified in QuarkXpress  
1985 - Graduated, 3 year Diploma of Fine Art Otago Polytechnic, (Degree equivalent) majoring in painting
1980 - Left Rosehill College, Papakura, with University Entrance and Higher School Certificate.
